Google Cardboard review

If you havn’t heard about Google cardboard yet , you have to check it out! It is a low cost way to get Oculus rift like headtracking and 3d imaging on your iOS or Android device. I tried this with both my Firephone and Iphone 6 Plus and it works surprisingly well. You can either make your own headset from cardboard (hence the name Google Cardboard) or buy a prebuilt plastic headset for under $20 from Amazon (which I did). You put your device in the headset then you start the Google cardboard or cardboard application or youtube 360 video (search Apple or play store for applications).

Overall I am pretty surprised at the results for cheap … the Youtube 360 videos are mind blowing especially the “Avengers 360” video on youtube. I believe this is the future … 3d video immersion like you are there without being there… you can visit the Eiffel tower without being at the Eiffel tower with your loved one who is streaming 360 video live to your headset from a drone … the possibilities are endless … check it out for yourself as it is a pretty amazing experience for a next to nothing price

Also Note as of November 2015, youtube 360 is not working 100% for iOS/iPhones
