Time to find a ride to fix up : 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder

Well I have been on the sidelines with cars lately and decided to pick up a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder for my garage. I have had 2 Eclipses before and this will be my third. This is the fourth and last (for  now) generation of the Eclipses. I was looking for a GS 4 cylinder eclipse as timing belts are a pain on the 6 cylinder(what I learned from my previous 3G GT). I finally found one, it had leather seats, rockford fosgate sound system and was in pretty good condition.

It did need a few things which I decided to tackle

Timing belt – Bought continental GTKWP340 (good year is renamed continental)  timing belt kit with waterpump  – On Amazon here Continental Elite GTKWP340 Timing Belt Component Kit (With Water Pump)
One of the rear sway bar links  were popped out of the bushing so I decided to buy Moog sway bar links Moog K750030 Stabilizer Bar Link Kit

Blacked out Spec-D Projector headlights Spec-D Tuning 2LHP-ELP06JM-TM Mitsubishi Eclipse Dual Halo Led Black Projector Head Lights

The rims were chipped a little bit so I decided to plastidip them gold to give it a nice white car/gold rims effect – this took several coats of plastidip black and plastidip metalizer gold
PLASTIDIP METALIZER GOLD by PERFORMIX MfrPartNo 11211-6Performix 11203 Plasti Dip Black Multi-Purpose Rubber Coating Aerosol – 11 oz.

I decided to also change the oil with Penzoil Platinum Synthetic and K&N oil filter
Pennzoil 550038332 Platinum 5W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil API GF-5 – 5 Quart Jug

K&N PS-1010 Pro Series Oil Filter
It took several days to get the timing belt, sway bar links , projectors , oil change and rims done, but after it felt like a brand new car. The before and after results are below, the car drives like new and I can foresee years of fun to come as the 4g Eclipses have a reputation for reliability (read any user review site like kbb.com)
